The context
During Expo 2015, Milan became the global stage where culture, innovation, and sustainability intertwined in a single grand narrative. In this international setting, greenery played a central role in interpreting the identities of the participating countries, creating spaces for gathering and reflection that went beyond mere decoration, becoming a symbol of life, biodiversity, and environmental respect.
The project
MGF was responsible for the landscaping of eight pavilions: Brazil, Malaysia, Uruguay, China, Mexico, Israel, Cambodia, and Brunei. Each project stemmed from a deep understanding of the cultural and climatic context of each country, transforming the landscape into a unique sensory experience. From botanical choices to living structures, every detail helped tell stories of distant lands, ancient traditions, and future aspirations.
